Miniature scene inspired by the Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro! c: You may have already seen my Totoro doll but I had this wooden base sitting around for a theoretical project like this one and I decided: Totoro, you're the one, you get a scene! It was definitely the biggest project I've undertaken so far, having to crochet two more dolls, three props, and the ground and sprouts, and it was so much fun and very fulfilling to see finished. The dolls and props are not currently attached to the base, so they can be moved and posed as you can see in the Sta.sh folder also linked above, I started having some fun with the photos.

I couldn't begin to estimate time spent on this project, especially because the ground took the longest by far and I'd actually already started it before deciding to use the base for a Totoro scene. So, it's a mystery, but it definitely took many many hours of well-spent time. This is why I love summer, I would not be able to do something like this during school, so I doubt I'll be making anything similar until next summer.

As always, no patterns were used! Just an idea and a lot of time. The biggest surprise success was the leaf on Totoro's head, some of the pictures capture it well, it actually comes to a point and has a little leafy curl~

I used size 10 crochet thread and a size 2 steel crochet hook, brands of thread varying, but my favorite is the bamboo fiber thread that I used for the ground and the white totoro. It's so soft and works very well with this particular crochet hook!
